Methodology: where the data comes from and how we keep it right
Curated data is the single source of truth; automated fetchers only cross-check and propose changes. Every number has a source and a check date, and stale data is flagged.
Pipeline
- Curated YAML is the source of truth, in a public repo; anyone can send a PR, and every edit is versioned.
- Validated on every build: each number needs an official source URL and a check date; prices must be positive, currencies must match the provider, references must exist. If validation fails, the site is not updated.
- Automation cross-checks, it never overwrites: official pages whose terms allow it are fetched once a day and differences become proposed changes a human approves; pages whose terms forbid automated access (e.g. OpenAI, Anthropic, DeepSeek) are checked by hand weekly.
- On fetch failure we keep the last value and show its check date; anything unchecked for 30 days is marked stale. Wrong data is worse than missing data.
- Every change is logged to an append-only history — see Changes.
Currency conversion
The published currency is authoritative. The other currency is converted at the ECB reference rate (currently 1 USD = 6.6862 CNY), marked ≈, for comparison only.
How tips go stale
Each tip records the commands, flags or settings it depends on. We read the official Claude Code and Codex release notes daily; a later "removed / deprecated / renamed" entry that mentions a dependency flags the tip "needs recheck". Tips verified over 60 days ago, or many releases back, are marked "may be outdated".
Benchmarks
We do not compute a home-made overall score. Third-party benchmark data is used only where its license allows redistribution, with attribution; otherwise we link out.
